PICKLEBALL BEGINNER LESSONS

We will offer more Beginner Lessons in the outdoor season later this year.

Details: Soo Pickleball certified instructors will lead you through the basics in a 2 hour session. You will be taught grip, strokes, playing, positioning, scoring, everything you need to know to get started. We provide balls and paddles for the lessons.

Soo Pickleball members play at Clergue School in the winter.

The sessions are currently FULL.

NO CLERGUE PLAY FRIDAY MARCH 29 AND APRIL 19

Information for Players who are confirmed:

The nets, balls and poles are in a bucket stored on the stage in the corner closest to the entrance. Please return them after the last session of the night.
Only PLAYERS are allowed in the school/gym during their timeslot (no children or spectators).
For 5:30pm time slots, arrive as close as possible to that time at the main doors (facing Pine St.) while it is unlocked. If you have to arrive later, please contact someone from the player list ahead of time so they can come and open the door for you.
If your timeslot is 7:30pm, then players from 5:30pm will be there to open the door if it is locked.
Only indoor shoes are allowed in the Gym.
Please be aware that there is no Pickleball on school holidays (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, March Break), PA days (Sep.29, Oct.27, Nov.10, Feb.2, Mar.29, Apr.19), and snow days if there are any. We will try to send a reminder as those days approach.

We are so happy to have hosted this amazing weekend Tournament Event! Thank you to all the competitors, volunteers, City and Tourism Staff, Pickleball Ontario, and Ryan Hanes (Tournament Director)! Also a huge thanks to the members and chiefs of our Fire and Police Departments who helped make the first "Paddle Battle" a fun event for everyone!

Congratulations to our Finalists in the BEGINNER SCRAMBLE!

In the spirit of FUN, we will be doing a randomized draw from all the players registered to determine what time you play. Times will be emailed to all players prior to their Scramble day. Note that some players may be waitlisted in order to have balanced, 8 player Round Robins.

1. Spectators are Welcome! Please enter the main doors (facing Wellington St.) and go upstairs to watch.
2. Once Players arrive, they will pick a number to determine which court to play on for their 8 Player Round Robin (each Player will play 7 games).

3. Top 12 scores across all pools will advance to the "Finals". Players will be contacted BY EMAIL (after the 2nd group finishes) if they make it into the Finals.

4. Finals will consist of three, 4 Player Round Robins. Again, Players will pick a number to determine which court they play on. "Winners" will be top 3 scores across pools. (Each player plays 3 games).

5. Players that registered MUST attend in order for our Round Robins to work!

Please email if you are willing to be named a SUBSTITUTE for a different day's Scramble (just in case!)

The City has put up the nets at the outdoor Elliott courts at the Elliott Sports Complex in the west end!

Please check back here in the later spring for information about upcoming Soo Pickleball outdoor programs!

Elliott courts are run by the city. The courts are on a first come, first serve basis, except for mornings when social* pickleball is expected on most courts. Looking for people to play with? Try out PlaytimeScheduler.com for free (remember that is does not book a court for you)!

*SOCIAL play in mornings is NOT for people who want to learn to play - it is for players who already know how to play! Please watch our website for announcements about Lessons if you want to learn!
